CEBU, PHILIPPINES -- There is no substitute for quality and consistency when it comes to training future airline pilots. This was evident as the Aviatour community paused to congratulate its 12th batch of graduates last weekend.
The graduation featured 22 candidates from 8 countries, for a total of 63 graduates this year.
Guest speaker for the evening was retired major general Romeo Alamillo, a decorated soldier, pilot and former assistant director of FSIS, Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines. Gen. Alamillo exhorted the graduates to continue pursuing their dream, pointing to the strong, long-term demand for pilots.
Special recognition were given to the following individuals for outstanding performance:
Aviatour continues to lead the industry in producing the most commercial pilots in the Philippines. It is also the #1 private school training commercial pilots for Indonesia.

"I'm here standing to give a word of appreciation to those who worked hard so we, the graduating students are able to be here, wearing a really nice uniform with the attributes, in this nice place.
I've been in Aviatour for 10 months, I always observe every single worker in this company. From those who turn off the air conditioner at 5pm until the CEO of the school. Even though they have different tasks, I noticed that they all worked so hard and really serious in their job. To me, it's like teamwork. There is a manager who manages the workers, and the workers execute their tasks in the field until they achieve what they have planned. Aviatour, we would like to congratulate you also because again, you have achieved another achievement by graduating 22 great students.
On behalf of the other graduating students, from the bottom of our hearts, we would like to say thank you, thank you very much for all the sacrifice you have made for us, and we apologize for any mistakes we've made.
My fellow graduates, 14 years ago when I was 9 years old, I started to imagine myself as a pilot. Flying a jet plane, flying high in the sky.
When I was in high school back in 2004, I was able to see myself in our position right now. Studying in a flight school, flying a single engine plane, getting a license, even though it seemed impossible at that time for me to study in a flight school. My parents were unable to fund my study in Aviatour until last year.
What I'm trying to say is...I hope you guys already planned ahead what you want to achieve after completing flight training. If you have haven't, then start to think about it now, don't delay. For some of you it may seem impossible to achieve your dream just like what happened to me in 2004. Don't lose faith and hope. Be prepared for the opportunity that is always around, and we just need to expand our vision so we can see it coming.
I believe every single one of you have the potential to become a great pilot. What you need is endless hardwork to study and always study with a spirit of excellence. It's not about perfection, but it's about how you do extra in everything you do. It's because you love it, not because you have to do it.
Thank you Captain for the teaching. My name is Yohanes Sugiarto, closing flight plan."
